Yin / Yang Yoga
This class is suitable for any age or ability who would like to experience a balanced class of both yin and yang yoga. Beginners are more than welcome and also those who may have restricting injuries as alternatives are always given.
Yin is more internal, passive, cooling and downward. Yang is more external, warming and upward. When these terms are applied in yoga, Yin Yoga is a slower practice where poses are passively held for longer. It works on the deep, dense (Yin) connective tissues and joints in the body. Yang Yoga, in contrast, refers to a more active practice, building strength and balance. This particular class doesn’t include any fast vinyasa flows, instead we allow time even in the yang postures to take notice of how our body feels. Safe Dru Yoga slow flowing movements are also woven into this class.
Breathing techniques (pranayama) are included and the class finishes with a guided healing meditation / relaxation.
We all feel calm, peaceful and yet energised for the day ahead at the end of this very balanced class.
